The Hemp Supply Chain: The Sustainable Solution Revolutionising Industries

At Rare Earth Global, we’re paving the way for a carbon-negative future by harnessing the incredible potential of hemp products. With growing demand from global brands like Lotus, Nike, and Patagonia, hemp stalk is being used to create decarbonised products that are reshaping industries from automotive to fashion.

The hemp plant is a true wonder crop. Its seeds are rich in protein, fiber, and omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, supporting brain health, heart function, and the immune system. Meanwhile, its stalk is a versatile raw material, already featured in cars, shoes, and clothing, as well as cutting-edge innovations like wind turbine blades developed by the University of Cambridge and even skyscrapers in South Africa.

As demand grows for sustainable supply chains, our B2B marketplace connects businesses to hemp products, helping them transition from carbon-intensive materials like soy. Our processing facilities transform hemp stalk into sustainable raw materials, supporting companies’ efforts to meet carbon reduction goals and align with sustainability standards.

Since 2019, Rare Earth Global has taken bold steps to grow this market. With

  • £42.5 million in product demand,

  • 650 hectares (equivalent to 1,500 football fields) under hemp cultivation, and

  • a processing capacity of 5,000 tonnes annually,

We’re proud to operate one of Europe’s largest decarbonisation projects in Spain.

In collaboration with UK researchers and international farmers, we’re conducting life cycle analyses to provide long-term carbon credit data. We’ve also partnered with industrial testing facilities to innovate end-of-life solutions, turning hemp-based materials into reusable formats with biochar as a byproduct.

Hemp is more than just a sustainable material—it’s a pathway to a greener future. Join us in decarbonising industries and building sustainable supply chains. Follow Rare Earth Global to explore how hemp products are shaping a better tomorrow.
